a gentle dance

these blooms, these petals…are fleeting.  but i am so enjoying their beauty right now.  all winter long, i have savored the bare branches against the winter sky.  and now i am  reveling in the beautiful colors against our spring sky.  the leaves are beginning to push their way through, and hues will shift from whites, pinks, purples, reds to full canopies of green.  it is transition time, again.  seems that nature is always moving and cycling through some phase…rest, new growth, a small fade…more new growth, full on life, a grand fade, back to quiet rest.

there’s comfort for me in watching her cycles.  she tells me that we don’t always have to be “on”.  we can move through our days like the waters upon the beach, ebbing and flowing.  we can put forth our effort, then sit back and engage in rest, reflection, repose.      there is always motion…in and out, forward and back, a little hop to the side.  movement, fluidity.  the gentle dance of life…

sending a little love your way, m

  1. i have always said i don’t know what i would do without the seasons, they help me move along.

i agree with you there are so many beautiful shades of purple, pink and white everywhere here, it’s lifting my deep dark winter depression.

    transitioning for sure!

  2. “we can move through our days like the waters upon the beach, ebbing and flowing. we can put forth our effort, then sit back and engage in rest, reflection, repose.”

just what I needed to read/hear today.
so much guilt I put on myself when I go more inward-
i need to swallow this lesson from nature pronto.

  3. a beautiful post!
p.s.– i couldn’t click thru to your self-portrait from the 52 photos project page today–it says that your photo on flickr is private–just thought you might want to know.
