:: noticing the moments ::

taking some time to reflect upon my week…

:: neighborhood walks with the kids and the pup…loving the sycamores as they drop their leaves

:: cleaning off my cluttered desk…only to find it re-cluttered two days later…sigh

:: working through this book…ah-mazing

:: the kiddos taking charge of christmas lights on the stair railings and hanging stockings…their enthusiasm is infectious

:: have you ever heard of the elf on the shelf?  this book/elf was gifted to my children by their grandparents a few years ago and every year our elf {named jollyan} makes a merry appearance; in short, the elf mysteriously moves around the house during the christmas season, keeping an eye on certain people’s behaviors.  my son is now in on the whole santa thing and he takes it to such sweet levels with his younger sister.  the other day, he built a sofa for jollyan’s visit this year…made from 2×4’s and then covered in fleece…my daughter stitched up a couple felt cushions.  cute, non?

:: baking bread…loving the aromas which ensue…loving the warm, chewy goodness fresh from the oven

:: pigtails…for my daughter…and for me…they just kinda make me happy

:: afternoon tea with the kids

hoping you enjoyed and noticed some moments in your week.  do share, if you feel inspired…

sending  a little love your way, m

  1. Oh my goodness….Fire Starter Sessions….I recently got my copy in the mail and find a hard time putting it down. It is amazing and expanding my heart and mind in so many ways. I love that you are reading it!

  2. Our elf’s name is Ziggy. I am going to be honest and say that Ziggy will probably be making less and less frequent visits. After 5 years, Mama is wondering how long this is going to last! My kids are 8 and 10, still believes in Santa and all things magical. I do love this about them but I am at a point where I am starting to feel a bit guilty, ya know?

    Those cookies ooh those cookies!!
    xoxo

  3. I am not sure why but elf on a shelf is a bit creepy to me. I think it must be his face. The gingerbread men look delicious. I love eating anything gingerbread flavored at this time of year!

  4. cute wee sofa and cushions! and i must say, there is nothing that compares to the smell of freshly baked bread…heaven.

  5. Loving that little sofa and its cute cushions, lucky elf and fabulous creative kids! Very cute gingerbread people too. Have a lovely weekend. :)

  6. You are raising a fine young man [and lady too] there Michelle.

    fun.
    Have a great weekend.
