yesterday

500ice

yesterday
there was a lot of ice.  and drizzle.  and grey.
there was also warm tea.  and cocoa.

yesterday
there was math for the kiddos.  history.  writing.  a wee bit of science.
all on a day when the local school district was closed due to ice.
yes, poor kids…homeschooling.  ice isn’t an issue.

yesterday
there was connection felt as emails were exchanged
between homeschooling friends and online creative kindred souls.
there was a moment of wow and i felt my eyes fill.

yesterday
there was warm broth and curly kale.
there were empanadas.

yesterday
there were teeth that needed brushing.
and laundry that needed washing and drying and folding.

yesterday
my husband went into work late because of the icy roads.
he used the suddenly-free morning hours to paint a room in the basement.
such a slacker, right?

yesterday
was a day like so many others.
yet unlike so many others.

yesterday
and now it is today.

how was your yesterday?   and how’s today?

sending a little love your way, m

  2. can’t believe i’m about to say this but yesterday was better than today. who’d have thought monday could beat a tuesday? feeling on the edge today, not sure why. on the plus side, this too shall pass.

hope your tuesday is a lovely one.

  3. Yesterday was a Monday, too much paper work. Today we are heading to the mid 70’s and I’m leaving the work until later and getting outside.
While I wish for wintery, cold weather this is what I’ve got so I am going to make the most of it.
    Have a beautiful day.
