it’s easy to love summer’s thistle with
her showy purple flower
easy to look past the prickly green leaves
surrounding
when the summer months move into
those of fall and early winter
i walk past thistle patches
wild along the road
long gone are the violet hues
now there is earth
tone everywhere and
still
i am in love with the thistle
with her effecting body
determined and strong
unapologetic
i am in love with the thistle
with her fierce and quiet beauty
self-assured
i am in love with the thistle
unassuming guide that she is
whispering her wisdom as
i walk alongside
i am in love
sending a little love your way, m

What a. Wonderful image. .. And you wrote the poem? Amazing! I am now very curious and will look at your blog which seems to be full of surprises. And -if you allow it- I am going to be your latest follower.
Gorgeous image…
I am SO in for the Intention 7…that sounds just plain awesome. I’m sorry I didn’t hear about it sooner. ;)
Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving, Michelle. Love to you and your family.
You just made me love winter thistle, too. xo
I love the way your mind thinks, the way your words come out. This is so good. I hope you publish your poems someday. That would be very nice and I would buy a book of poems written by you and how lovely it would be with your images too.
Thank you for loving the way that strength and beauty always dance at the tip of potential danger. Thank you for embracing this. Thank you for showing me that I can do this too, if only and even for today.
