little bits make me happy. a cup of tea, a breeze, a kiss, a tiny little bouquet.
yesterday was beautiful and spring-like and we spent some time outdoors. my daughter found these little weeds flowers and brought them to me. she has done this for years now, and i love every bunch she collects.
i love that she sees beauty when she finds these tiny blooms peppering the ground, love that she gathers and gifts the beauty, love that she is so eager in her endeavor. little bits…which touch me deeply.
some days i feel disconnected {yesterday was one}. it is these little bits that bring tears to my eyes; it is these little bits that bring me center; it is these little bits that bring me to grace.
i tell you this
to break your heart,
by which i mean only
that it break open and never close again
to the rest of the world. ~ mary oliver
happy april to you. happy national poetry month. {did you know?!}
and happy wishes for little bits that bring you exactly what you need.
sending a little love your way, m
this post speaks right to my heart. i sit beside you in loving silence. (after giving you a loving, virtual hug.)
i love the little bouquet and the mary oliver…:)
I hope when you read this you are connected instead of disconnected. Oh I remember the bouquets the kids would give me! Lots of dandelions and violets :)
How sweet. I used to love it when my kids were little and used to do that.:)
I think it’s all those little bits that add up to a big life! Love the wee flowers and that your nails match your mitts and that you’re in this space :)
what sweet little flowers. I’m happy to hear some flowers are showing themselves in your parts, so exciting. I love to read your words and Mary’s too.
Beautiful words and thoughts :) As a child I always thought my mother was crazy saying that the best things come in small packages. Now as an adult, I know this to be so true… and what a lovely little package your daughter gave you!
