it’s friday. hooray!
a little inspirational image+quote for you, followed by a prompt. to simply read. to explore with words or paint. to capture in a photograph of your own. to consider while you walk or sip or breathe. take it. allow it to seep into your consciousness. go, dearest…
now consider this: **what do your eyes see today?**
sending a little love your way, m
I would love to share this quote as a writing assignment when we begin lessons again. How true Michelle and I think my Alex would appreciate these words, he has a beautiful way of looking at our world.
Enjoy a beautiful weekend.
it’s one of my favorite quotes {though i’ll admit to having many favorites}.
share away, my friend…
and wishing you a beautiful weekend as well. xo
The first thing that came to my mind was my late aunt teaching me to paint. I used to bug and bug her as a child to use her oils until she decided to teach me and made me do things like paint spheres for a whole year till I learnt how light bounces off things like marbles. Anyway, she used to say, “paint what you see, not what you know is there.” And I learned that I see violet (not grey) shadows and turquoise light in golden objects. It’s amazing what you see when you put away the what you know is there prejudice. :D
veronica, what a lovely story to share…thank you. your aunt was wise in her art instruction, as well as life instruction. true sight is definitely amazing…
this. such a good reminder…and challenge for me! xo
a challenge of the heart…for us all.
xo
I swear you hit the nail on the head every Friday. I don’t know how you do it, but the quotes or words seem to always reflect what’s going on in my life!
ah, julie, i love that!!! so glad…xo
{and thanks for letting me know; it means a great deal to me}
