a little inspirational image + quote for you, followed by a prompt. to simply read. to explore with words or paint. to capture in a photograph of your own. to consider while you walk or sip or breathe. take it. allow it to seep into your consciousness. go, dearest…
now consider this: **in what ways am i large? in what ways am i small? am i at peace with all my pieces?**
sending a little love your way, m
Hi Michelle, I’ve been so busy that I’m playing a bit of catch-up now. Nice thought! I was walking thru all the displays at the Art in Action last weekend and thinking, “I’ve done that…I’ve tried that…I know how to do that…” and, you know, it was very fulfilling for me as an artist. So Large and Containing Multitudes is exactly how I feel, but somewhat fractured as well…as in, not enough time to do everything in my head. But not too contradictory I think. Everything is in that great big balloon of “artistic” in some way. :D Hope you’re having a lovely week.
veronica, i know what you mean about feeling like there’s not enough time to do everything in one’s head. and pairing this idea of containing multitudes with a big balloon of artistic…i love that.
“I am large + I contain multitudes” — This is such a lovely thought! It makes me feel warm + cozy knowing that we all are going to contradict ourselves. We’re too complex not to!
i agree, caitlin…and i find a lot of comfort in this!
I contradict myself all the time, makes Mike laugh ;)
i like to find the humor in it too, tracey!
Good prompt to mull over.
i’m mulling myself, kelly…
