:: Noticing the Moments ::

Taking some time to reflect upon my week…

:: buying myself tulips…just because

:: rain…and then sunshine

:: a few good walks

:: ruining a whole chicken in the crockpot…when will I learn that the crockpot doesn’t do what I want it to do?  (for the record, it was edible) (but so disappointing)

:: M&Ms…I ate a lot

:: printing photos…intending to do this more often…because nothing beats holding the image versus staring at it on a screen

:: finally doing something on my to-do list that’s been there for a long time…it felt so good to stop carrying it over from day to day…it felt so good to just do it

:: a hot cup of tea…it soothes, it celebrates…this one was sipped while connecting with a dear friend via email…sometimes technology is awesome

:: finding this Anne Lamott quote tucked into my journal:  I am going to close my eyes and listen.  (yes)

  1. 1. “yo-yo” weather – below freezing and then warm, fog, rain & melting & a prediction of very cold again this weekend, hoping for more photo opportunities as a result!
    2. Chocolate – Valentine treat overload at the office (I resisted – mostly) ;)
    3. Sadness – reflecting on the news out of Florida; trying to make sense of it all :(
    4. morning coffee – my ritual
    5. new quilting supplies arrived – looking forward to a weekend filled with creativity!

    1. Connie, we have the yo-yo weather too…it’s a little crazy.
      With the exception of the third one (I know, heavy heart here too)…your moments from this week are wonderful. Enjoy your weekend of quilting and hopefully happy photo making :)

  2. I’ve been reading Elizabeth Gilbert’s Big Magic and it has been the bright joyful spot in a too-busy, too-stressful week.

    This week of too-much has helped me see how, for the most part, I’ve done a good job building a life that is NOT too much. So that’s my silver lining: realizing I’m proud of the fact that I haven’t bought into the idea that “too busy” equals “important and successful”.
