I’ve been watching spring. It’s always the daffodils and crocuses that arrive first. Then the haze of greens and reds on the trees, the blossoms on the Bradford pears, the magnolias, the redbuds, the trees whose names I don’t know. The crape myrtle, a late bloomer, will come later. In the meantime, I’ve been waiting on the tulips. We have a few out front, and they are always the ones I wait for impatiently patiently. I love tulips.
I love all the blooms, all the new growth this time of year. But the tulips give me a little thrill. The deep (sometimes soft) colors, the simple arrangement of petals, the petals themselves strong and supple, the way the flower stands tall then eventually bends.
I’ve been waiting, and hoping the bunnies and deer don’t eat them. Thankfully, they’ve made it. Just yesterday they arrived. I’m happy.
A tulip doesn’t strive to impress anyone. It doesn’t struggle to be different than a rose.
It doesn’t have to. It is different. And there’s room in the garden for every flower.

Wishing you a little joy as you watch spring in your world. And if you’re in the southern hemisphere, I wish you the same joy as you watch Mother Nature step into her quieter state. Both are lovely, yes?
Wherever you are, wishing you growth within your heart.
Happy Easter weekend!
Sending a little love your way, m
Happy Easter!! We do not have tulips (critters eat them….) but I enjoyed the daffodils and now the dandelions are aplenty!
