:: Dear Thursday ::

Dear Thursday,

Thank you for being quiet and not needing me to leave the house (except for the visit to the doctor for my sinus infection) (but thanks for that, too, because now I have medicine to knock it out of my system).  Thank you for the comfortable sofa and the book I’d picked up the day before at the library. Thank you for my sweet daughter who made me tea.  Thank you for the hot shower which cleared my nasal passages.  Thank you for the soft tee-shirt that’s from my sister so that it made me think of her (thank you for my other sisters too). Thank you for the brief thunderstorm in the afternoon; it was somehow just right at that point in the day. Thank you for the twinkle lights that clicked on when the skies darkened.  Thank you for not raining in the evening so that my son could have soccer practice (which he loves). Thank you for the quiet evening during which I wrote (even though I ended up scrapping it) and my daughter drew.  Thank you for sprinklings of laughter throughout the day.  Thank you for much-needed nothingness. Thank you for being exactly what I needed (it’s funny sometimes how that works out).

What was your Thursday like?  Share in the comments below, or jot it down in a journal or notebook.  Sometimes it’s nice to look back as we begin to move forward.

Sending a little love your way, m

P.S. Barbara and I have a new quote + pics over at Tandem Echoes.

  1. Thursday was chocked full of grateful and thankful moments…cool breezes. desert flowers of all colors are in bloom. Taize practice with glorious, soulful women ( song/chanting circle ) grilled portabella mushrooms on my salad. my favorite cold beer in the fridge. brown paper packages, tied with string, packed and ready to mail. rusty bits and fabrics soaking and waiting for me to unbundle. FaceTime with my people. evening thunder, lightning and hailstorm. cuddles with my soft feather pillows.
