:: A Tiny Bit of Quiet :: July 26

A quiet journaling series for your summer (or winter) months.  June – August.  From me to you. xo

Pay less attention to what you do than how you do it.
~ Shunryu Suzuki ~

Think about tasks you do daily…preparing meals, cleaning house, commuting to work, talking (and listening) to others.
When you do these things, are you often in a thoughtless hurry…or are you paying attention, are you infusing the act with love, are you tending with care?

When you dread/procrastinate any task, how might you shift your perspective so that you can do the task with careful attention (and intention) versus begrudgingly plowing through? (When preparing food, can you infuse the meal with love?  When cleaning house, can you think about loving and tending the home that holds you?)

Pay attention as much as you can to everything you do today.  Put your heart into the doing.  Pay attention to how you feel when your heart connects with your actions.

Here’s another thought:  sometimes not-doing is doing.  Pay attention to the not-doing too.

I hope you enjoy these quiet bits each Friday (or whenever you find them).  Remember that you can share with each other on Instagram using #atinybitofquiet or you can work privately at home.  You can also contact me here.  Do what feels right for you.  The important thing is that you’re making this time for you.
always the love, m
