:: A Tiny Bit of Quiet :: August 23

A quiet journaling series for your summer (or winter) months.  June – August.  From me to you. xo

Some days there won’t be a song in your heart.  Sing anyway.
~ Emory Austin ~

When you have a bad day or rough phase, it’s helpful to have a toolbox of ways to lift yourself.
Write 5-10 possible actions you can turn to when you’re feeling low or stuck (sit outside, exercise, make a cup of tea, call a friend…you get the idea).

Keep this list handy for the days you need a reminder of ways to lift yourself…you might put a piece of washi tape along the edge of this particular journal page so that you can turn to it easily, you might copy your list onto a post-it note and place it somewhere you’ll see it, you might make yourself an audio note on your phone so you can listen whenever you need to.

Now let’s get literal with this quote:  Think of a song you love.  Put it on, sing it, dance it.  Repeat.  Sometimes the right song helps us remember our own internal beat.  (I know you might feel silly doing this, but try it anyway.)
Write this song down on your list from above.

I hope you enjoy these quiet bits each Friday (or whenever you find them).  Remember that you can share with each other on Instagram using #atinybitofquiet or you can work privately at home.  You can also contact me here.  Do what feels right for you.  The important thing is that you’re making this time for you.
always the love, m
