A Tiny Bit of Quiet :: June 26

A quiet journaling series.  Read here to learn more about following along from June 19 – August 28.

Your true home is in the here and now.
~ Thich Nhat Hanh ~

I know the current now is pretty uncomfortable for many reasons…some that are unsettling and uncertain, some that are deep and raw and terribly wrong. Still, we must find a way to be here, now.  What we do in the here – in the now – is unique to each of us.  But know that we all have choices about how we respond, how we behave, how we live and love and do.

• With a few words (or with many), write about your now.
Now, this very minute.  Now, in this month of June.  Now, in your career.  Now, at this juncture in your country’s history.  You choose the now you want to explore…then, explore.

• How do you feel about your now?  Play with this:  instead of thinking about how you feel intellectually/emotionally (i.e., I feel frustrated, I feel content), consider how you feel in your body (I feel a knot in my stomach, I feel fluttery in my belly).  This is harder (I promise you I know this is harder), but see if you can feel something/anything in your body (it’s okay if you can’t) (that’s part of your now) (you can try again later).

• Whatever your now is, write down a few things that are good about that now.  If you only have one, write that one.  If you have more, feel free to write as many good things as pop into your mind (your heart).

Go live your day from this place (this space) of now. May you feel good and whole and rooted.

always the love, m

  1. My now… happy to be here on this page, hearing the kids next door on the trampoline, knowing I did some good work today, planning a bath later this evening and a walk before that. Happy to be here in my now, thank you for asking x

  2. my now- I’m feeling tension in my muscles. So to release this tension I work in my garden. I’m out there from 5; 00 am until 9;30 am. Then back out at 6:30-9:00. Gardening is my love, it nurtures me and I nurture it.

    I’m grateful to be alive.

    My focus is on awareness.

    1. oh, your garden must be lovely with all the tending that you do! I love what you wrote about the nurturing that goes both way, for you and for the garden.
      beautiful…
