A quiet journaling series. Read here to learn more about following along from June 19 – August 28.
I teach people that no matter what the situation is, no matter how chaotic, no matter how much drama is around you, you can heal by your presence if you just stay center.
~ Deepak Chopra ~
As mentioned last week, this idea of being present (of staying center) is a simple idea; but simple doesn’t always mean easy. How did last week go as you practiced being more present??
• What are some things you do that help you feel more centered? Make a list of anything that comes to mind. (maybe walking in the woods, being close to water, drawing, writing, praying)
• Do you make time for these things that center you?
If yes, fantastic. Jot down some recent things you did that helped you feel grounded, centered, present. Keep doing them.
If no, it’s okay. Your task is a little different: choose one of the things you listed above and make time for that in the coming week. Just pick one, and do it at least once this week (baby steps are very good). Then try to include more of this in your days ahead.
• When you feel centered and really present, what does that actually mean for you? How do you feel when you’re centered and present? Think about how you feel emotionally as well as how your body might feel physically. Considering the physical sensations is harder for lots of us. It’s okay…just give it some thought. And the next time you notice yourself feeling centered and grounded, think about how you’re feeling (again, emotionally as well as physically) and come back to your page (your heart) and make a few notes.
always the love, m
