rhythm :: a rest-based creative practice
five-day guided experiences | offered quarterly | reflective writing and deep rest

In a world that moves quickly, I invite you to pause, breathe, and discover writing as a gateway to deeper self-understanding and creative renewal. This isn’t traditional writing instruction… it’s a transformative practice where writing becomes both an exploration and a refuge.
…what if writing wasn’t about output, but about listening?
…what if creativity emerged not from pushing, but from giving yourself permission for both expression and pause?
Through the fusion of gentle writing prompts and guided rest sessions,
I create space for both creative expression and gentle healing.
a different way to write
This practice recognizes that everyone has stories, insights, and wisdom to explore.
This practice recognizes that creativity flourishes when we support our bodies with rest.
This practice recognizes that every word written is a step toward wholeness, and every moment of silence is as valuable as the writing itself.
the seasons of rest and reflection
Throughout the year, I offer four independent — but interconnected — sessions, each providing a doorway into rest and reflection.
Rest and Renew (Spring)
A time for gentle beginnings and creative awakening, we explore fresh perspectives in the pairing of stillness and words.
Rest and Expand (Summer)
An invitation to grow creatively and mindfully while discovering what emerges when we allow space for both rest and self-expression.
Rest and Ground (Autumn)
A season to anchor your writing practice in sustainable rhythms, weaving moments of rest and reflection into your daily life.
Rest and Restore (Winter)
A quiet chapter for deep integration, where rest and reflection support your creative and mindful journey.
a note about seasons
While these sessions follow the rhythm of the Northern Hemisphere, the themes and practices will resonate regardless of where you call home. Whether you're experiencing winter in July or spring in October, the invitations for rest and reflection align with your local season's (and your own) wisdom. The practice aligns with your natural rhythms, wherever you are.
• you long to write (or feel curious about writing) but feel pulled in too many directions to begin
• you crave stillness as much as you crave creativity
• you want a gentle way to reflect that doesn’t feel like another to-do
• you’re drawn to rest and reflection, but think you don’t have time for it
Rhythm :: A Rest-Based Creative Practice
is for you if…
This isn’t about becoming an author or filling pages with polished prose – though that might happen. It’s about cultivating a writing and rest practice that will support creativity and mindful living.
• notice thoughts without judgment
• find pockets of rest in your busy day
• use writing as a gentle tool for clearing your mind and expressing your heart
• cultivate calm
• move at your own pace, without pressure to perform
you’ll learn to…
-
Nope. If you’re a living, breathing human, you have everything you need to step into this practice.
-
I’ve created this practice with busy lives in mind. Most rest sessions will be 15-20 minutes in length, and you can take as little or as much time as you like with the writing exercises.
No schedules, no pressure. -
This is not a membership or subscription. I offer each of the quarterly, seasonal sessions as standalone offerings. This way, you can dip in at set points throughout the year without the overwhelm of an ongoing commitment.
-
You’ll have full access for 30 days following the active run of a session, so you can return to – and deepen – your rest and writing practices.
These sessions are intended for you to dive into seasonally as they’re presented.
Rest and write now, not someday.
In a world of subscriptions and memberships, Rhythm is something different.
It’s a guided experience you step into when you need it – without feeling the need to “keep up.”
It’s a gentle, quarterly offering designed to meet you where you are, whenever you’re ready.

it’s a practice, it’s a journey
Join me in exploring this restorative approach to writing, where words become pathways to deeper awareness and rest becomes an essential part of the creative process.
The writing you do might become something other…
a poem, an essay, a blog post, a painting, a song. Or it might live exactly as is in the pages of your journal.
This is good too.
The resting you do will support and nourish every bit of your existence. I know that’s a grand statement. It’s true.
Whether you have a long history of writing or are just beginning to consider it as a tool
for reflection and creativity, there’s space here for you.
Join me in exploring this restful approach to self-discovery, where every word and every pause is golden.

this isn’t just another thing to add
to your schedule. It’s an invitation
to give yourself what you truly need:
reflection, creative expression, and rest.
If that feels like a gift you’re ready
to receive, I’d love to welcome you in.
p.s.
I’m in no hurry: the sun and the moon aren’t, either.

why write + rest with me
As a Writing and Rest Guide, I create spaces where creative expression meets intentional rest. Drawing from my studies in literature and studio arts at Tufts University and extensive yoga training, I’ve developed a unique approach that weaves together contemplative practice with generative writing. I guide students in discovering their authentic voice through restorative writing practices that honor the need for self-expression and the wisdom of rest. Through my workshops and offerings, participants develop sustainable tools for self-reflection, creative renewal, and deeper self-understanding.
My writing has been published in the literary magazine, kerning. I've also published my writing and photography in Bella Grace and Mabel as well as several places online.
Writing and resting are ongoing practices for me, and I can’t wait to share them with you.
Subscribe to Notes
Notes invite you to pause and notice, to savor the world around you.
On the first of each month, I send notes sharing what I'm noticing.
I also like to share things like books and recipes that I'm enjoying,
and sometimes mid-month, I share a piece from my blog.
Notes are heartfelt letters, from me to you.
